Feminist Infrastructural Critique foregrounds that use, maintenance, and repair are key to resisting infrastructural violence and injustice and presents practices from the Brazilian Amazon to different cities in Europe, Pakistan, the Seychelles, Syria and Puerto Rico.

The editors, Elke Krasny, Sophie Lingg, and Claudia Lomoschitz, will introduce the notion of feminist infrastructural critique and the thematic issue of the FKW Journal for Gender Studies and Visual Culture that includes fourteen contributions by thirty-six authors.

Contributors Merve Bedir and Urška Jurman, both part of the Ecologies of Care group, will speak about their specific work: Merve Bedir will present the Kitchen Workshop – a collective by women from Syria and Turkey, initiated in 2015, based in Gaziantep, Turkey – to discuss infrastructures of living together. Urška Jurman will talk about a community garden Beyond a Construction Site in Ljubljana, Slovenia as a case of infrastructure under pressure.
